I was watching JFK on CD today; before the movie started there were a couple of trailers of other movies they have in their catalogue and I was immediately struck by Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca. She looks so much like Debra Messing of Will & Grace fame. Since Casablanca was shot in 1942, this is either an incredible coincidence, or there is something wrong with my eyes =)

I just watched casablanca for the first time today and thought wow that loooks like debra messing!so i typed both their names into google and i am glad to know i am not the only one who thought the resemblance was amazing!
And I hear all the time that I look like Debra Messing and Ingrid Bergman.
I thought I was the link between them, but I guess you already connected them too.

I am currently watching Notorious and I was racking my brain trying to figure out which actress looks like IB and then suddenly it came to me, Debra Messing!

waltz oskar, seriously! They look nothing alike. Bergman was a classic beauty. Her smile lit up her whole face. The other woman is just a plain face in the crowd.
OMG! I was just watching Casablanca and I could only think of how similar their facial features are. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees that. No relation though – it’s the wierdest thing.

hi, i´m from Argentina and I was just watching an ingrid bergman clip ín youtube and I said to myself “she is so familiar!” and then… “yes! she is like the actress of ´the wedding date´!” I went to google, put the two names (as the one above)… and here I am. so… it seems I´m not the only one…
i completely agree and have thought this ever since i watched notorious some time ago. in fact i was convinced bergman MUST be her mother with issabella rossellini a half sister or something. but no. glad others realise the similarity.
Wow, here I was searching for pictures of Ingrid Bergman as many times before to compare with similar pictures of Debra Messing just because it hit me a long time ago that they look SO alike! And just as I was thinking about and wondered if this similarity among the two has ever hit anyone before me, a picture turns up on the screen; “Debra Messing Ingrid Bergman”. But I had only searched for Ingrid Bergman, not Debra Messing. Well, so it seems, that many people has noticed this before. (The similarity hit me too when watching “The wedding date”, strangely since I’ve been watching “will & Grace” for many years and never noticed any Ingrid in Debra before – maybe it’s the flat har)
I was watching the Wedding Date and thought wow – she looks like Ingrid Bergman so I put the two names in the search engine and found this site. I know both ladies are Jewish – i am certain there is a strong family connection of some sort. Both have similar features – the nose and the eyes and they shaped face. Both are very beautiful and very talented as well.
Ingrid was not a really funny actor, more serious, whereas, Debra is extremely funny.

I know exactly what you mean! I was watching ‘Inn of Sixth Happiness’ and was shocked at the resemblence. But I think it’s merely coincidence.
