The last few days and weeks have been difficult1 and I realized that I haven’t really spoken about one of the self-derived axioms I live my life by.
I find the Serenity Prayer to be a wonderful distillation of hope and self-love at one-end, and pragmatism and rationality on the other. The original prayer (like a lot of good philosophy) was derived from worship and devotion, but I prefer a less religious version:
Let me have the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,?
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
- A few things happened that I can’t speak about yet. ↩︎
