This week: Onam continued, workout challenges, a birthday gift, a weekend catch-up, an upcoming Greece trip, and links about JavaScript and Docker alternatives.
For folks not in the know, this is a weekly stream of consciousness zero-agenda “here’s what’s happening” or “here’s what’s interesting” post.
What’s been happening
- We went to Vellayani during Chathyam as part of the continuing Onam celbrations, and had another Sadya, and loads of payasam. Achan made some excellent kadala payasam, and I usually don’t have a lot of sweets, but I kinda over-indulged this time around.
- We also went to the Chenkal Maheshwaram temple that has a pretty impressive (if a bit tacky) new Shivalinga.
- Workouts were good last week, but I’m really not able to complete a few workouts that focuses on my core. My well-developed tummy is really pulling me down here, literally 🙂
- I gifted myself a Grid iPhone display for my upcoming birthday. This is one of those things that I really wished to own when it was released, and I finally have at least a display piece.
- Watched Officer Black Belt this week. It’s got decent action scenes, but really nothing to write home about.
- Nidhish came over during the weekend, and we spent some time catching up and shooting the shit. Ammu had gone to Vellayani so we pretty much had the full place to ourselves and took 100% advantage of that 🙂
- We went to Leela Raviz when it was full moon, but couldn’t really get the experience of the moon over water. I’m taking a break from alcohol for the next 3 months, so I had a mocktail (aka sugary drink) and we shared a platter of beef and fish.
- Our Greece trip is on the horizon. We’re traveling 5-16, and will be visiting Athens, Meteora and Santorini. Almost all tickets are booked except the ones to Meteora as that’s not available online right now.
- So is the land registration of the new house! Apparently the work on developing the plot will be complete by October 13, and we’ll register the land hopefully a week or two after that.
